Victoria Longley Cancer Appeal Launch

KATE MULVANY ANNOUNCED AS AMBASSADOR FOR CANCER FUND

In a video cross to New York, multi award winning actor and playwright Kate Mulvany announced the launch of the Victoria Longley Cancer Appeal and her role as the Ambassador. The appeal and fund, administered by the ABF, will raise money to assist colleagues in the performing arts struggling with the financial stress caused by undergoing cancer treatment. Victoria Longley was a much loved and lauded actor who sadly passed away some years ago due to cancer. An anonymous bequest was made at the time to honour her name. It now forms the basis of the Appeal.  Kate Mulvany chose to promote this cause specifically because she was a friend and admirer of Victoria Longley and she is also a cancer survivor.

The fundraising was seeded on the night by a generous donation from the Seaborn, Broughton, Walford Foundation of $5,000 announced by Sandy Gore as part of the 75th Anniversary Celebration.

Donations to the Victoria Longley Cancer Appeal can be made on the ABF web site. Applications for assistance can be made on the standard application form which is also downloadable on the web site.
